He is the director of the Cancer Center at Weill Cornell Medicine, and has made major contributions to the understanding of the insulin and PI3K signaling pathways in human health and disease. He has authored over 700 scientific papers and is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Medicine.
