John Piper is an American pastor, author, and teacher. He is the founder and leader of desiringGod. org and the chancellor of Bethlehem College & Seminary. Piper served as pastor for preaching and vision at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis from 1980 to 2013. He has written over 50 books, and is a popular speaker at conferences around the world. He and his wife, Noel, have four children and eleven grandchildren.
