"You & a Bike & a Road is cartoonist Eleanor Davis’ chronicle of a bike trip she took in 2016, riding from her parents’ home in Arizona to her own home in Athens, Ga. The book is, essentially, a travel diary – a day-to-day account of her trip – and its strength is in its focus on small, specific moments: Davis’ interactions with strangers on the road, her frustration on hard days, incidents she witnesses with the Border Patrol. Its lack of structure makes for a meditative read, and Davis’ reflective voice raises thoughtful questions about what our border looks like."
