"Science fiction, fantasy and horror are littered with anthologies, and as a book critic specializing in speculative fiction, I read a lot of them. This is one of the best to come out this year. These 14 stories skip across speculative fiction, hitting folklore, dystopian, magical realism, history and near future. Each centers Palestinian lives, from those who reside in their homeland to those scattered across the diaspora. At once mournful and hopeful, the stories collected here reshaped my perspective. I especially recommend the opening story, “Down Under” by Jumaana Abdu, a powerful piece about searching for home."
