"Shutter Volume 5 is the final chapter in the Shutter comic series, written by Joe Keatinge and illustrated by Leila del Duca. At the beginning of the series, main character Kate Kristopher found herself the unwitting center of a bloody, centuries-old family drama. Now, older and a bit wiser, Kate leads her band of misfits directly into the fray. Keatinge’s writing is paced well – frantic and chaotic at times, quiet and reflective at others – and del Duca’s art is pitch perfect. It revels in the frenetic action of fight scenes (a note for the queasy, there’s a lot of violence), but shines best in the quiet, affectionate gestures between characters. The whole series is worth a read, and Shutter Volume 5 is explosive and bombastic – a fitting end to a series built on explosions and bombast."
