Refugee High: Coming of Age in America

"What happens to refugee teenagers when Donald Trump becomes president? Reporter Elly Fishman embedded in Chicago’s Roger Sullivan High School, which has the highest percentage of refugees of any American high school. She interviews teachers, administrators, students and their families in a community with over 30 languages. Often in dire financial straits, students from Iraq, Guatemala, Congo, Myanmar and points in between come off like teenagers everywhere, worried about love lives and grades. Fishman shows that when a school works to ensure students thrive, even against severe hardship and loss, refugee teens become the best of America’s melting pot."
