Quichotte: A Novel

"Hosting All Things Considered leaves me almost no time to read for pleasure. I usually manage to squeeze in about one book a year that isn’t for an author interview. So my standards are high. Quichotte was my pleasure reading in 2019, and it cleared the bar with ease. Salman Rushdie’s retelling of the Don Quixote story is a sprawling, messy, multilayered, overflowing heap of a thing. It also shows the skills of a master at the peak of his abilities."
