"Priscilla is one of those kids with an obsession: Hers is gorillas. That enthusiasm sends her to her classroom’s thinking corner again and again. Yet we can’t help but root for troublemaking Priscilla, because she can’t help constantly bubbling over with gorilla facts. I love her parents’ calmness and how Priscilla’s joy helps her make friends and how she evolves over the course of the story. Her teacher and her energy remind me of the Kevin Henkes’ classic Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse.
