No One Is Talking About This: A Novel

"I have a morbid fascination with people who are Extremely Online, so this book was my jam. Patricia Lockwood’s debut novel follows an unnamed narrator whose post on “the portal” becomes a viral sensation. Lockwood is a gifted writer whose prose captures the profane and often mind-numbingly dumb nature of the internet. Her observations are so sharp and funny – I repeatedly thought of the “I’m in This Photo and I Don’t Like It” meme while reading it. The book delivers a gut punch in the second half – I won’t ruin it for you here. But taken together, the two halves are a well-observed look at millennials, which is why this is one of my favorites of the year."
