"I don’t want to read any more stories about incompetent white tech bros. Thankfully, Kevin Nguyen has written a refreshing satire of startup culture. Lucas and Margo are close friends and coworkers who often commiserate about the racism they face at work. Lucas, a low-level customer service rep, is Asian American, and Margo is a programmer and the lone Black employee at their company. When Margo dies in a car accident, Lucas decides to excavate Margo’s online persona and virtual life in order to process his grief and better get to know his friend. The novel unpacks varying types of loneliness, whether caused by grief or online interaction or because you are a POC facing racism in the workplace."
