Mommy's Khimar

"A young Muslim-American girl goes into her mother’s closet, where she is surrounded by a rainbow of flowing khimars, or headscarves. She tries on different scarves before settling on a favorite yellow khimar, at which point she imagines herself as a queen, a shooting star and a golden bird. The child’s exuberance is clear (and infectious), and her face bursts with joy and pride as she connects deeply with her mother, her community and her faith. (For ages 4 to 8)"
