Good Movies as Old Books: Films Reimagined as Vintage Book Covers

"Never judge a book by its cover, but, man, is it ever fun to judge a film by its Matt Stevens cover. The ingenious designer/illustrator reimagines roughly 200 of his fave flicks as vintage paperbacks – Mad Max with a cover that could be a Peter Max-on-acid portrait of Dr. Dementus, Speed with a lit, clock-faced bomb, Ghostbusters as midcentury sci-fi noir. His covers conjure the 1950s and ‘60s so effectively that I found myself thinking that maybe I’d somehow missed that Jordan Peele’s Get Out (never a novel) was originally published in 1953. I also reeeeally wanted to read it."
