"Ada Limón’s lush and vivid new collection of poetry tackles motherhood in all its forms – not being able to carry a child and also the relationship she has with her own mother. My favorite poem is called “Wonder Woman” – and if you are ever feeling sad, I suggest you read it. It ends with these lines: “She strutted by in all her strength and glory, invincible, eternal, and when I stood up to clap (because who wouldn’t have), she bowed and posed like she knew I needed a myth – a woman, by a river, indestructible.“ Limón writes her poetry by reading the words out loud, and it’s obvious in the glowing cadence in her work."
