Football is America’s most-watched sport – but the NFL is remarkably opaque. Leibovich gets behind the curtain, and his way in is through his beloved New England Patriots (I hate them). Somehow, he manages to describe the inner workings of the league in a way that a fan of any team or even a non-fan can appreciate and understand. The picture is both hilarious and depressing. His sendups of league bigwigs make for a hilarious read, and his analysis of the racial and other dynamics help illuminate the stories now on the sports pages."
