Autumn

"The not-quite-poems, not-quite-essays that make up Autumn are a gentle introduction to this Norwegian author who famously wrote a six-volume autobiographical series called My Struggle. Each chapter of this book is just a few pages, with deep observations of subjects ranging from forgiveness to toilet bowls. Readers can be cultish in their devotion to Karl Ove Knausgaard’s work, and while I’m still not a member of the cult, this slim book encouraged me to look more closely at the world. I don’t think I’ll ever take a bite of an apple in quite the same way."
